The short answer? No.
Baby acne is a very common skin condition, occurring in about 20% of newborns. This is clearly not a problem, except to a newborn's mother who is about to go in for a newborn photo session. I know the panic you're feeling. . . you have spent days and days on Pinterest going through "perfect" newborn pictures, all pictures in which the newborns don't have acne.
Now, you're asking yourself if you need to reschedule your new little ones photos in order for you to get those same "perfect" pictures. Well I have good news, most babies I photograph have baby acne, jaundice, dry skin, stork bites, etc. and they can still end up with the unblemished skin you imagined. I would say that the majority of newborns have some sort of skin issue but please don't worry about that, you are stressed enough; Photoshop can take care of the rest.
The most important thing to remember is that you just MADE a human being, good job mama!! This tiny human is the most amazing and important thing you have and will ever do and I am capturing the beautiful emotional connection between you and your family.
If you're a new mom or a mom for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time give me a call and let's talk about setting up a newborn session in my Chapel Hill studio or even in your own home.
